Personality: As a cub, Kovu is proud, innocent, and friendly and like to playfuly tease others. When he grows into an adult, Zira's training had made him tough, ruthless, and serious to a fault. However when he fell in love with Kiara, Kovu grews more friendly, caring, brave, and willing to help others. He is a skiled hunter but didn't know how to do certain things like roar or have fun. AFter the death of one of his cubs, Kovu became extremely protective of his only cub, Johari.
Description: Kovu is strong and healthy due to Zira's, harsh training. His fur is a rich chocolate brown with a dark-brown mane. Kovu's build is strong and muscular. His mane usually has a large tuff right above his face. He has emerald green eyes with yellow scleras. Like other Outlanders, his nose is thin and black unlike the larger pink-color noses of the Pridelanders. Others used to remark on how much he resembles scar even though they aren't related. He still has the scar left by his mother Zira over his left eye.
History: Desperate to provide Scar with a worthy heir to throne, Zira gave birth to Kovu with another unknown lion. When Simba returned to the Pridelands and took his rightful place, Kovu was exiled along with his family and other supporters of Scar. Desperate to return to the pridelands, Zira trained Kovu to one day kill Simba and take his place as king. But when Zira put her plan into action, she didn't count on Kovu falling in love with Simba's daughter, Kiara. When Kovu betrayed his pride, which lead to the death of his brother Nuka, Zira lost her temper and slashed Kovu across the face, giving him a scar like Scar. Together with Kiara, he helped combine the two prides even though Zira died while trying to attack Simba. Returning to the Pridelands, Kovu married Kiara and eventually became King of the Pridelands. When Kiara gave birth to two cubs and one died from weakness, Kovu became very protective of his only cub.
RP Sample: The first beam of light from the morning sun shone though the entrance to Pride Rock and into the closed eyes of Kovu. He blinked from the sudden disturbance, and reluctantly shook the sleep from his eyes. He yawned and stretched his back and front legs, extracting and retracting his paws, before looking at the beautiful lioness still asleep at his side. Kovu smiled as Kiara's very presence filled his heart with the warm light of love, something he had never known before he knew her. He nuzzled her on the top of her head, softly as to not wake her up, and walked out of the den's entrance. As he watched the sunrise, Kovu thought back to how his life had improved from only a few weeks ago. He now had a true home, a pride that accepted him, a family, and a mate who returns the same feelings of love and devotion that he feels towards her. Though the death of his mother Zira and his brother Nuka still hung heavy on his heart and he mourned their loss, he had never been happier in his entire life. After few minutes of basking in the sun, Kovu returned to the den, where Kiara and the rest of his new family was waiting for him.
